Practical Farm Ideas: Agri-Web Award

Farming magazine Practical Farm Ideas gave Muddy Matches one of their Agri-Web Awards for creating "a great site for farming folk".

By way of an acceptance speech we had a few words to say about farmers dating.  We know that the whole dating game can be pretty tough on farmers - they often work long, unpredictable and sometimes antisocial hours and finding someone who understands the farming and rural way of life is essential for a happy relationship.  So if Muddy Matches can help make dating for single farmers slightly less difficult, then we are extremely pleased!

The Field: Young Rural Entrepreneur Award

Thanks to winners of the 2007 Young Rural Entrepreneur Award, Charlotte and Ben Hollins of the Fordhall Community Land Initiative and Family Farm, we got a mention in an article about the 2008 awards in the June issue of The Field:

Six months after their win, Charlotte says the award helped in so many different ways.  "We met a lot of people in the competition who have since been up to the farm; we've created partnerships with some of them," she says.  One, the countryside dating service Muddy Matches, is arranging a volunteers' dating weekend on the farm later this summer."
